Our Story
NOKSHI draws inspiration from the word Nakshi Kantha, a centuries-old Bengali art form of embroidered quilts made from recycled sari fabric. The name Nokshi symbolizes sustainability, womanhood, and community. For generations, women would gather in their free time to work on these intricate designs, sharing stories and supporting one another.
Nokshi celebrates this rich legacy of Bengali textile craftsmanship, emphasizing sustainability and the strength of women uniting for a purpose. It was founded by Sabrin Sultana, a Bangladeshi-American designer who sought to address the devastating effects of fast fashion on Bangladesh’s garment industry.
As a Muslim woman, Sabrin designs minimalist, timeless, and modest garments that serve as everyday essentials. Her creations reflect her dedication to high-quality craftsmanship while celebrating the beauty of women of color through unique color palettes that compliment diverse skin tones.

Ethical Production
In January 2025, Sabrin opened a 1,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Dhaka, where all Nokshi garments are made in-house. This allows Nokshi to have complete control over the supply chain while staying true to its values of ethical production. The facility employs predominantly women, offering ex-garment workers from toxic environments a safe, respectful, and empowering workspace.
At Nokshi, workers’ safety and rights are at the heart of our mission. All employees are paid three times the average wage of Bangladeshi garment workers, ensuring fair trade practices and improving their quality of life.

Our Commitment to Sustainability
We source all materials sustainably from Dhaka’s largest wholesale fabric market, home to over 10,000 locally owned shops. All Nokshi garments are made from deadstock fabric—unused surplus textile materials from previous production runs in the fashion industry. This approach reduces waste, supports local textile traders, and prevents fabric from ending up in landfills.
Our collections follow a limited, one-time drop model, meaning each garment is uniquely exclusive. Once a collection sells out, the styles will never be reproduced in the same fabric, making every purchase truly special.

Transparency
At Nokshi, transparency isn’t just a value—it’s a promise. Every step of our production process is traceable, from sourcing materials to in-house manufacturing. We ensure that everyone involved is treated with dignity, paid a fair living wage, and works within fair trade standards.
Our production is rooted in Dhaka’s historic Garment District, a place that carries the rich heritage of Bangladesh’s textile industry. By staying true to our roots, we aim to preserve this legacy while redefining what ethical fashion can look like.
Our Promise
Each Nokshi garment is crafted with precision and care, using high-quality sewing techniques to ensure seamless, well-structured pieces designed to last. Our curated wardrobe is tailored to fit the multifaceted life of a modest woman—offering practicality, elegance, and timeless style.
With unique silhouettes and premium fabrics, every design embodies our commitment to uncompromised quality.
At Nokshi, we’re not just creating clothing—we’re building a safer, more sustainable garment industry that honors the people who make our clothes and those who wear them.
